Day 10: PRAGUE: Vysehrad Fortress, Dancing House - BARCELONA

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Being our last day today, we took advantage of sleeping a little more and taking the day with some peace of mind. We want visit the Vysehrad Fortress of Prague, which is a bit far from the hotel and finish making the purchases that are pending.
About 10 in the morning we leave our hotel, the Archibald City leaving our bags and asking for a taxi to take us to Prague airport at 5 in the afternoon.
We are heading to the Vysehrad Fortress, taking half an hour to arrive.

The weather is still cold, although it does not rain like yesterday that we had to visit the Jewish Quarter of Prague with rain, something that despite being annoying, did not detract from this place an iota of interest.

Prague

TheVysehrad Fortress being further away from the "tourist center", we can see more Prague in its purest form and that makes us walk more calmly and looking at everything that attracts our attention.

Prague

Before visiting the Vysehrad Fortress of Prague we enjoy incredible views of the city.

We are an hour and something in the Fortress, especially walking through its gardens and visiting the cemetery, where Neruda's grave is. Vysehrad fortress is one of the busiest green areas of Prague.

Also we visited the Church of San Pedro and San Pablo that due to a fire was rebuilt.

After this, we are leaving along the river, until you reach the Charles Bridge.

Before arriving at the bridge we see the "Dancing House", also known as "Fred and Ginger" for its resemblance to dancers.

This whole walk takes us another half hour or so and once there, we do what we have done so much these days "wandering" aimlessly.
We buy the last memories and we will eat at a restaurant near the hotel. We are tired and decided that it is best to go to the hotel, to rest for a while at the reception and in the process update us a bit by connecting to the internet.

There we spend the remaining 2 hours, until our taxi comes to find us (by the way, it is not a taxi, if not a private car, which charges us 690 crowns for the journey).
You can find more information about the transfer in this post on how to go from Prague airport to the center.

Once at the Prague airport, we just have to wait for what we like least about travel: the return home.
We have a flight without incident and in 2 and a half hours we are in Barcelona.
Now we have to pick up the car in the long distance parking and go back home. Tomorrow we will remember our trip seeing the photos and "putting hands" to our memories.
What's the song say:
"Oh, Prague, Prague, Prague,
two fingers on the sore
and a saint in the loft.
Oh! Prague, darling, Prague,
the moon is a dagger
tar stained.
