If you have a flight to Bologna you are probably wondering how to get from the airport to the city center and to the train station. Here we propose the three alternatives:

How much does a taxi from Bologna airport to the city center cost? Here are some reference prices:

  • In working day: € 15.00 + supplement € 0.50 per bag.
  • On holiday or night: 18,00€ + supplement € 0.50 per bag.

TheAerobus - BLQ circulates from the airport to the central station, stopping at Pontelungo Y Ospedale Maggiore (stops only available to go in the direction of the city, and to get off in the direction of the airport) and in Mille, the city center (in via dei Mille, between Via Montebello and Via Galliera).

In the direction of the station has a schedule from 05:30 to 00:15 and to the airport from 05:00 to 23:30. Circle everyday with a frequency of 11 minutes. It takes approximately 1 hour to make the journey at rush hour. You can see the table with the official schedules on this website.

The price It is € 6, and the ticket can be purchased in the following ways:

  • In the automatic transmitting machines of the airport and the central train station of Bologna.
  • On the departure platform of the aerobus at the station.
  • In TPER wallets.
  • Book on the website aerobus.bo.it/es, if you want to use an urban bus later you will have to go to the issuing machines to pick up the ticket (go silly then).

With the ticket they allow you to circulate in other urban buses during the 75 minutes of validity, remember that if you made the online reservation you will have to pick up the ticket at the vending machines.

First you take the bus 54. This line runs from Monday to Saturday (if you travel on Sunday you are gone **), from 06:00 to 20:00, leaving every hour on time. Eye, in the month of August only circulates in the morning from 06:00 to 14:00. The stop is leaving through the main airport gate on the left. The taxi rank is passed and at the end of the whole there is a bench with a board with the timetable information of line 54.

Remember to buy the ticket! Inside the airport there is a “Tourist Office” stand just in front of the Carrefour Express, where they sell bus tickets for € 1.30. You will have to chop it on the first bus and it is also valid for the second.

If the bus has not received any reservation to make stops (it is an option that puts the city of Bologna through which citizens can request a special stop, but we usually do not pass), the first stop will be “Birra“, Which is where you have to get off.

In the stop “Birra”Get off line 54 and wait for the line 81 or 91, either leads directly to the central train station of Bologna, which is the last stop (in total there are 13 stops). This time you don't have to ring the ticket. It runs from Monday to Saturday from 05:40 to 20:20 with a high frequency (approximately 10-15 minutes) and on Sundays with reduced hours (every hour).

  • The price the ticket is € 1.30
  • From bus 54 until the train station is reached, it usually takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

What if you arrive at night and leave in the morning by train?

We have received an inquiry with the following information: the flight arrives in Bologna at 00:00 and I have a train that leaves for Florence at 05:30, how do I do it? In that case, according to the information provided by the station, you can spend those 5 hours in the waiting room of the station, which in theory does not close. More info here.

The truth is that we usually use the Bologna airport every time we go to Italy, we leave the car in the OpenParking parking of the Alicante airport and in Bologna we catch the Frecciargento 9442 train from Bologna to Udine directly.

And of course, take advantage of your step to enjoy the things to see and do in Bologna 🙂
